A lazy challenge

Ooooh, I felt so relaxed and refreshed after sleeping in until 6:30 this morning (the main benefit of going to running club at night, if you ask me, is that it removes the need for an early am workout the next day). Breakfast was a lazy affair, too.

I heated a heaping 1/2 cup of banana bread crockpot oats from the batch I made and froze ages ago:

With the oats, I enjoyed 1/2 cup yogurt, sprinkles of coconut and additional nutmeg, and a good old-fashioned spoonful of crunchy pb:

Plus water and soymilky black tea on the side:

My friend Diana sent me this NYT article announcing this week as “A Week Without Shopping,” the idea being that most people will find they can easily survive for a week on the food already in their homes. I wish I had known about this challenge sooner because it’s definitely my style! What do you think? Could you survive a week with no groceries?

I survive a week without going grocery shopping all the time! In fact, I did not go grocery shopping this week! Usually, I stock up whenever I go so I don’t necessarily need to go grocery shopping every week. However, it can be hard to stretch out the fruits and veggies unless you buy stuff that can last for 2 weeks. And I did get more milk over the weekend, but other than that, still surviving on the groceries from the week before!

i can survive for like 3 weeks without groceries I think. All those pantry canned things can really work in your favor when you’re a college student with no car!

I usually go about 1-1.5 weeks between grocery shops but it’s hard to go much longer than that because i run out of dairy and produce and honestly can’t survive without them!

As long as I had stocked up on fresh fruit and veggies at the beginning of the week I would be fine. I need to use up the canned goods I have in my cupboards! There is so much stuff in my cupboards I have forgotten what a lot of it is and end up buying duplicates!

I am really bad at that! I’m always terrified I’m going to run out of fresh produce, so I’m not sure I could do that. Although, I have done it before, now that I think about it. Things got a little sad, but nothing too bad.
