Product Review: Flanigan Farms

Reviewed May 9, 2009

With all my running around for finals this week, I’ve been taking advantage of some of the pre-packed snacks that are littering my apartment, especially a trio of snack pouches from Flanigan Farms.

I had some Nuts ‘N’ Fruit during the afternoon slump one day:

I was pleased with this package because it contained only one serving, and that one serving only contained “nuts” and “fruit” … fruit like persimmon!

And I pulled out the dry roasted almonds when my tummy was prematurely growling one morning:

Plain dry-roasted almonds are plain dry-roasted almonds, so these obviously tasted delicious. The package does, however, contain 1.5 servings (or 1.5 ounces). Why was it necessary to put 1.5 servings of almonds in this package? Flanigan Farms could not round it up to two or down to one?? Anyway, I obviously ended up eating the whole thing and spoiling my appetite for lunch … which I still ate anyway. In conclusion, these almonds were good, but they led me to overeat!

Having learned my lesson from the almond experience above, I used package #3 — Nuts’N’ Things with peanuts, almonds, raisins, and sunflower seeds and 1.5 servings — for my baking adventures.

I loved that all of these snacks had nothing added. The nuts were fresh and crunchy, and the mix of fruits and seeds provided perfect variety. However, the one thing that would lead me to buy a Flanigan Farms snack pack (as opposed to making my own snack pack) is the single-serving size … and the packages are not consistently single-serving sized! So, enjoy with caution šŸ™‚

If you’re interested in obtaining some of these snack pouches for yourself (and you should be!), you can get 15% off every time by using the promo code GoNuts at the Flanigan Farms online store.
