Butter is the new broccoli. Haven’t you heard?
If I haven’t written about food much lately, it’s because we are too busy cooking it and eating it. Life sometimes feels like one big whirlwind of food preparation, and even I get sick of thinking about it! We have been carving away at our stores of goodies from last year’s farm season and have tragically finished our freezer meat, canned tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. We are down to just six lonely butternut squashes.
I have three exciting (for me) food updates today: the state of baby-led weaning, our local seafood adventures, and my new love of stuck-inside-all-day-thanks-to-four-feet-of-snow baking.
Erik and I love to eat, obviously. Our goal is to grow a baby who loves to eat, too.
Now that winter is coming to a close (we hope!), my belly and I have been getting excited about having access to farm food again. These pictures from last year’s bounty have been helping me get in the mood.
